Stainless Steel 500 Series

500 series stainless steels are made up of heat-resistant chromium alloys. The 500 series is not very large and is not widely used yet. The grades in this series contain a certain percentage of chromium, which prevents deformation under heat. 500 series steels are used in applications where heat is a concern. In addition to chromium, they mostly also contain manganese (Mn) and molybdenum (Mo).

Stainless steel 500 series - is a martensitic stainless steel with high hardness. Can be strengthened by a combination of cold and heat treatment. Alloys are magnetic grades. Do not have a significant amount of nickel in their composition or it is absent altogether.
