Stainless Steel Grade AISI 430FSe
Stainless Steel Grade AISI 430FSe

AISI 430FSe is a ferritic stainless steel grade in which sulfur is replaced by selenium to improve machinability. A basic non-heat treatable stainless steel with 17% chromium, moderate strength and corrosion resistance.

Machinability

430 FSe stainless steel can be machined with good feed and speed.

Welding

Stainless steel grade 430FSe is not recommended for welding. If necessary, welding can be accomplished using low temperatures and filler metal.

Hot processing

430FSe stainless steel can be hot worked by first bringing the material temperature to 816 °C and then gradually to temperatures from 1066 °C to 1149 °C.

Cold processing

430FSe stainless steel can only withstand moderate cold forming.

Annealing

430 FSe stainless steel can be annealed at temperatures from 677 °C to 760 °C and then air cooled.

Hardening

430FSe stainless steel is not heat treatable.
