Stainless Steel Plug

In cross-section, the plug can be round (for a round pipe), square, rectangular, oval, triangular (for a profile pipe), elliptical or other. In the upper part, it can usually be flat or convex (spherical, hemispherical, elliptical). By the type of connection of the plug with the stainless steel pipe: 1) internal or driven (inserted / driven / screwed into the inside of the pipe), 2) external (put on / screwed onto the pipe), 3) connected at the butt by welding. All three types of plugs can be conditionally divided into: welded (for welding), driven, threaded, fastened with special self-tapping screws. By steel grade, stainless steel plugs are mainly divided into non-technical and food grade. By surface treatment: mirror, polished, gloss, super mirror, 400 GRIT, 600 GRIT, 800 GRIT, matte, sanded, satined.

Stainless steel plugs are selected to match the cross-sectional shape of the pipe or elbow. The shape of the plug must match the shape of the pipe or elbow. A welded plug is the most reliable type of connection, but it has its drawbacks: high costs for welding, polishing / grinding materials and long installation time. A plug-in / drive-in is very quick and easy to install and does not require additional costs. A threaded plug can only be for a round pipe and incurs certain costs since it is necessary to make the appropriate thread in/on the pipe. Knowing the grade of stainless steel of the pipe, select a plug of the same grade.

Basically, plugs are used for pipes with round, square and rectangular cross-sections.
