AISI 201LN | EN 1.4371 | DIN X2CrMnNiN17-7-5 is a low nickel, nitrogen reinforced, austenitic stainless steel with good corrosion resistance, high temperature strength and good mechanical properties. It is an improved version of AISI 201 | EN 1.4372 and a low cost alternative to EN 1.4301.
AISI 201LN stainless steel is a cheaper alternative to traditional austenitic stainless steels such as AISI 304. It has good oxidation resistance, easy fabrication and excellent strength even at low temperatures. Its high elongation allows bending and forming. It is not an expensive austenitic grade, as cheaper nitrogen and manganese are added as a partial alternative to nickel.
Application
- strapping;
- clamps;
- cable racks;
- cryogenic vessels;
- chemical processing equipment, heat exchangers and pipelines;
- chemical industry;
- petrochemical industry;
- power industry;
- nuclear industry;
- electronic industry;

- textile industry.
The nitrogen content increases the pitting resistance of this grade, making it suitable for use in aggressive environments. The yield strength and tensile strength of the grade increase with decreasing temperature. The steel is non-magnetic and is available in sheet, plate and other forms. It has good corrosion resistance, excellent mechanical strength and increased hardness.
