Stainless steel grade AISI 304LN / EN 1.4311 / DIN X2CrNiN18-10 is an austenitic stainless steel with the addition of nitrogen. In fact, it is a reinforced version of the AISI 304 grade.
It is actively used in the production of heat exchangers, in the chemical, food, oil refining, nuclear industries, in various designs, etc.

Technological properties
⓵ Hot processing
Hot forming should be carried out at temperatures between 1150 °C and 750 °C (degrees Celsius). Solution annulment is not required if hot forming is carried out above 900 °C followed by rapid cooling in air or water. Surface cleanliness of the metal is very important - try to avoid contamination. Due to the low thermal conductivity, the temperature holding time may be longer than for carbon steel (a difference of approximately 50%).
⓶ Cold processing
AISI 304LN steel can be cold formed without any problems. However, it should be noted that due to the addition of nitrogen, this steel is less susceptible to cold transformation than AISI 304L or AISI 316Ti stainless steels. Cold forming of 304 LN may require more powerful equipment.
