AISI 321H | EN 1.4878 | DIN X8CrNiTi18-10 is an austenitic, heat-resistant chromium-nickel stainless steel which, due to its resistance to scale, is suitable for use at temperatures up to 850 °C. AISI 321 H is very similar in structure and quality to AISI 321 steel and therefore has good corrosion resistance.
To avoid pitting corrosion, EN 1.4878 (AISI 321H) steel, like EN 1.4541 (AISI 321) steel, should not be exposed to sea air, sea water or salts for long periods.
Welding
AISI 321H is suitable for all common welding processes, especially laser welding. The addition of titanium makes AISI 321H resistant to intercrystalline corrosion during welding.

Application
Due to its special properties, this heat-resistant stainless steel is used for the production of components that require good mechanical properties and heat resistance up to 850 °C. Solid boxes and annealing furnaces are made of this austenitic steel, for example. AISI 321H is often used in the high-temperature industry, instrument making and industrial furnace construction, aviation, mechanical engineering and the food industry.
