Stainless Steel Grades Directory

AISI 348 | UNS S34800 - is an austenitic stainless steel stabilized with niobium (columbium) / tantalum. The alloy has excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion. This steel should be considered for applications subject to intermittent heating at temperatures between 425 ºC - 900 ºC. The steel contains 18 - 20% chromium and 9 - 13% nickel.

AISI 303Se | S30323 is a non-magnetic, austenitic stainless steel that is not heat treatable. It is free machinable, specifically designed to exhibit improved machinability. Selenium (Se) replaces sulfur, providing free machinable characteristics and has slightly improved formability compared to AISI 303.

AISI 316F | S31620 is a low-carbon modification of the popular AISI 316 stainless steel grade. It contains iron, carbon, silicon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, chromium, nickel and molybdenum. The addition of molybdenum gives AISI 316F better resistance to corrosion and pitting, making it ideal for use in aggressive conditions.

AISI 384 | S38400 is an austenitic stainless steel designed for primary forming into forged products. One of the most widely used precipitation hardening grades in industry. Although the alloy is soft and ductile in the solution annealed condition, it is capable of acquiring high properties after a single precipitation or aging treatment.

AISI 316N | S31651 is a standard austenitic stainless steel grade containing molybdenum. It has excellent formability and excellent welding characteristics. It has found quite wide application in various industries, architecture and transport. AISI 316N is a non-hardened austenitic steel with a carbon content of 0.08%.

AISI 304N | S30451 - The stainless steel version of AISI 304 is strengthened by adding nitrogen to its composition. This means that when comparing the two grades, AISI 304N has a higher tensile strength. This makes it an ideal material for applications where strength is important, such as in the marine environment or in manufacturing projects requiring high-strength materials.

AISI 216 | S21600 is a non-standard austenitic stainless steel of the 200 series. It is commonly referred to as AISI type 216 chromium-manganese-nickel steel. The high content of manganese (Mn = 7.5 - 9.0%), chromium (Cr = 17.5 - 22.0%) and 5.0 - 7.0% nickel + 2 - 3% molybdenum in its composition makes this steel one of the best of the 200 series. In general, it is characterized by good corrosion resistance, high elasticity, toughness and strength.
